We always encourage students to use interlibrary loan because it is a great way to access the resources you need while conducting research and completing assignments. However, with the end of Fall I quickly approaching, you do need to be aware of the typical timeline for fulfillment.

If you are requesting an article, like something from an academic journal or a newspaper, these requests typically take between 3-4 business days to be fulfilled because they are delivered electronically. In contrast, if you are requesting a book, that will take 2-3 weeks to be fulfilled. This is important to remember because you have many important due dates in the coming weeks.

If you are planning to use any print resources that we do not own, it is a good idea to get those requests in NOW because you need to anticipate the time it will take for delivery. However, you can place article requests up until the week your assignment is due because they can be fulfilled fairly quickly.

As always, this is why it is a good idea to start your research early so that you have the time to gather all necessary resources.
